Private transfer to Isola 2000
Isola 2000 is an altitude resort at around 2,000 metres, distinct from Isola village lower down in the valley. A transfer to the resort is therefore prepared with two things: the name of your residence or building, and a little room on the timing.
An altitude resort, distinct from the village
Isola 2000 and Isola village belong to the same commune, but they are two different places, separated by the mountain road. The resort is built at altitude, with its buildings, residences and facilities; the village is down in the valley below.
That distinction matters when booking: a destination given only as "Isola" can mean either one, and the route has nothing in common. Write "Isola 2000" when the resort is what you are heading for.
- Isola 2000: the resort, at around 2,000 metres.
- Isola village: in the valley, in the same commune.
- Always give the resort, then the address inside the resort.
Residence, building: the address inside the resort
In a resort, addresses are often those of a building or a residence, with a pedestrian entrance, a car park or a drop-off bay depending on the case. Giving the building name rather than "Isola 2000" alone lets the driver stop in the right place the first time, luggage included.
We agree the meeting point with you from that address. As everywhere, we assume no reserved access: no private car park, no closed-off area.
Driving up to the resort: road, weather, timing
The road to the resort is a mountain road. In the winter season, and whenever conditions require it, the surface and the traffic can change: it is worth checking road conditions before leaving, and not trusting a GPS alternative blindly.
We do not publish a fixed journey time: it depends on your starting point, the weather and the traffic. For a stay, plan the way up and the way down; for a departure to the airport, leave room before the arrival time you need.
Skis, equipment and bulky luggage
The car takes up to four passengers, with luggage capacity stated as a guide. We do not guarantee a set capacity for skis, snowboards or mountain equipment: it depends on the number of passengers and on the rest of the luggage.
If you are setting off with skis, snowboards or particularly bulky luggage, contact us before confirming so we can check what is available. Looking for a taxi between Nice and Isola 2000? Find Your Driver offers a pre-booked private-driver service: we are not a taxi service, and we do not take pick-ups from the street.

For the journey from Nice Airport
The Nice Côte d’Azur → Isola 2000 run has its own page, written for that journey: which terminal to give, how the pick-up works, and the care needed with the destination name — the resort, not the village.

Isola
Isola village sits in the upper Tinée valley, at around 875 metres. It is not the resort: Isola 2000 is a different place, much higher up, in the same commune. So the first thing to settle before booking is simple — are you going to the village, or to the resort?
Auron
Auron is a station-village in the commune of Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, at around 1,600 metres. You reach it up the Tinée valley, and you rarely stay at a single address: a residence, a chalet, a hotel or the village centre. That is what makes the exact address useful, and a booked transfer practical.
Nice
A driver booked in advance for Nice — your hotel, the station, the port, an appointment — and for journeys on to the rest of the Riviera. You see the price for the exact address and time you give before you confirm anything.
Isola 2000: common questions
- Are Isola village and Isola 2000 the same destination?
- No. They are two places in one commune: the village is in the valley, the resort is at around 2,000 metres at the end of the mountain road. Give the one you are heading for, then the address.
- What address should I give in the resort?
- The name of your residence or building, and the entrance if you know it. The drop-off is then agreed with you at the corresponding accessible point.
- Can I travel with skis or bulky equipment?
- The car takes up to four passengers, but we do not guarantee a set capacity for skis or snowboards. Contact us before confirming: we will check what is possible for your journey.
- How do I plan around a change in the weather?
- In the mountains the road and the traffic can change fast. Check conditions before leaving, keep some room on the timing, and if something significant changes, call or message us: we adjust the meeting point with you.
